Camphor, violet, Mediterranean brush and wild berry aromas lift out of the glass on the fragrant 2020 Villa Poggio Salvi Brunello. Savory and polished, the linear palate features ripe red plum, mature Morello cherry, grilled sage and black tea accompanied by taut, fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced.

Very aromatic with cherry and orange-blossom character, following through to a medium to full body with a solid core of fruit and crunchy, creamy tannins that open to a beautiful aftertaste. This needs three or four years to soften and refine, but it’s already impressive.

Very smoky wine here, with cola, almost peaty tones, black cherries and raspberries. The sweetness of the fruit is balanced by austere tannins with a sticky finish. Medium body with refreshing acidity, though warming at the end.
